The CHS education program consists of three courses:

  • Disability Income Insurance – 303
  • Critical Illness, Long-Term Care & Group Benefits – 504
  • Financial Planning Fundamentals for Health Insurance Professionals – 505

All three courses must be successfully completed to apply for the designation. Once you have successfully completed the CHS® designation program, we will notify you of such, and will direct you on how to apply for the designation through The Institute for Advanced Financial Education (“The Institute”).

Are there any pre-requisites for the CHS® program?

No, there are currently no pre-requisites. Anyone can enrol in the Advocis CHS program.

How long do I have to complete the CHS® program?

Candidates have four years to complete the three CHS® courses (303, 504, and 505) from the time they are first registered in the program.

Do I receive a certificate for completing the CHS® designation program?

Once you have successfully completed the CHS® designation program, you will receive notification from The Institute for Advanced Financial Education (“The Institute”). Delivery of the certificate may take four to six weeks.

I have completed a course in the previous Advocis Core Curriculum Program (241-244). Will this satisfy the CHS® elective requirement?

As long as you’ve successfully completed the course within the last four years, it will satisfy the elective course requirement to attain your CHS designation.
